Chaomin's paper titled "Graphene Oxide Based Recyclable in Vivo Device for Amperometric Monitoring of Interferon in Inflammatory Mice", is now available on the ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces website. This is the first study based on structure-switching molecules for continuous monitoring of cytokine in vivo. To view the article, please click on the ACS Articles on Request link below: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsami.8b13518 17 September 2018 Dr Guozhen Liu visited Prof Tony Huang's team at Duke University, and delivered a talk on nano-formulations for cytokine sensing. Two teams will target the collaboration on acoustofluidic devices for diagnostics. 12-16 September 2018 Dr Guozhen Liu attended the 17th World Congress (IASP) on Pain -- the biggest pain meeting happening at Boston, USA. Dr Liu teamed up with Prof Hutchinson from University of Adelaide, and Dr Marco Loggia from Harvard Medical School have organised the tropical workshop for this congress. Dr Liu has delivered a well received talk at 15 Sep on next generation technologies for monitoring and modulating of cytokines to understand persistent pain. 19 August 2018 Dr Guozhen Liu teamed up with Dr Hua Zhao from Division of Enterprise and participated in an Innovation Competition organized by the government of Gongsu District, Hangzhou City (where Alibaba Group is located), China. It was part of 2018 China - Australia - South Africa Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas High-level Talents. The competition information is as follow: http://zhihuiyunhe.gongshu.gov.cn/index_en.html There were approximately 300 applications in Australia and 15 of them were selected into the semi-final. Dr Guozhen Liu achieved 2nd place out of 15 teams and has progressed into the final competition in Hangzhou! Dr Guozhen Liu will attend the final competition in 6th September at Hangzhou. 9 August 2018 The first get-together for the whole nanobiophotonics CNBP@UNSW team was happening at E26 building at 4-5 pm at 9 August. ID2 group has a good representative there. The deputy director of CNBP Prof Ewa Goldys has made an inspiring speech. 9 August 2018 Dr Guozhen Liu attended the Australian Center of NanoMedcine (ACN) retreat happening at Paddington Campus, UNSW. 6 August 2018 Today Mr Zijie (Jeff) Luo started his PhD with ID2 team. He will work on intelligent nanoparticles for biosensing and deep-brain bioimaging. 23 July 2018 Today Mr Laicong Qiao has officially started his PhD project with ID2 team. He will work on development of flexible interfaces for intelligent biosensing. 23 July 2018 The UNSW CSIRO Industry PhD scholarship has been awarded to ID2 team with $80K industry cash commitment. Recruitment for the 2019 UNSW-CSIRO Industry PhD Program is now open. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to work at the interface of research and industry. We are seeking a highly motivated student for an exciting project on Biosensors for Monitoring of Micronutrients. This is a 4-year program with a 6-month industry placement with Nutromics. The student will receive a $40k p.a. scholarship. Further details on the project can be found below: https://research.unsw.edu.au/industry-phd/projects/paperbased-onchip-electrochemical-biosensors-for-personalised-monitoring-of-micronutrients 18 July 2018 Today the junior visiting research fellow Linyang (Sally) Liu joined the ID2 team, and she will work on point-of-care devices. 13 July 2018 We have our official group name “The Integrated Devices and Intelligent Diagnostics (ID2, ID squared)”. ID2 group is led by Dr Guozhen Liu. Today ID2 team has moved equipment to the our new wet chemistry lab at Level 5 (567) Hilmer building. 5-6 July 2018 Dr Guozhen Liu has delivered an invited talk at 2018 CNBP mid year clinical workshop being held over two days commencing at SAHMRI on Thursday 5 July and finishing at The Braggs, The University of Adelaide on Friday 6 July. 28 June 2018 The PhD student Mrs Jagjit Kaur is awarded with the ANSTO top-up Scholarship. This post-graduate Research Award (PGRA) is offered by AINSE Limited (the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering) for suitably qualified persons wishing to undertake studies in AINSE’s fields of interest for a higher degree at an AINSE member university. With the funding of this PGRA, Jagjit will conduct the research on development of ROS nanosensors supervised by Dr Guozhen Liu at UNSW, Dr Guojun Liu and Dr Ryan Middleton at ANSTO. 20-23 June 2018 Both Prof Ewa Goldys and Dr Guozhen Liu were invited to give talks at the 14th Sina-US Chemistry Professors Conference at Wuhan, China. This visit will facilitate the further research collaboration between UNSW and Central China Normal University (CCNU) within the International Joint Research Center for Intelligent Biosensor Technology and Health. 19 June 2018 The brand new wet-chemistry lab at Level 5 Hilmer Building is almost ready for ID2 group to move in.
