The group leader Dr Liu, as the leading Chief Investigator has secured another competitive funding (UNSW Biomedical Engineering Grant) valued at $450k over three years, which was announced at 12 March by the Dean of Engineering and Dean of Medicine, UNSW. This seed grant aims to improve patient health and impact clinical practice, to address clinical needs through the application of scientific discoveries and engineering innovations, and to focus on translational research and development, through collaboration with clinicians and cross collaboration between the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering.
Being invited by Dr Guozhen Liu, Prof Benzhong Tang, the pioneer of Aggregated-Induced Emission (AIE), from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, has given an very inspiring talk at UNSW today . After the well-received invited talk, Prof Benzhong Tang and his wife visited Liu's ID2 group and toured Liu's biomedical lab at Hilmer building. Prof Tang is very interested in our paper based microfluidic for intelligent diagnostics, and will explore the future collaborations.
Dr Mohammad Rahbar joins ID2 today as a postdoc working on paper based POC for intelligent diagnostics. Welcome on board!
Fuyuan and Linyang's paper entitled "Turn-On Fluorescence Aptasensor on Magnetic Nanobeads for Aflatoxin M1 Detection Based on an Exonuclease III-Assisted Signal Amplification Strategy" is now published in Nanomaterials (impact factor=3.5 in 2018).
