Prof Guozhen Liu, an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering, is leading a research team working on Integrated Devices and Intelligent Diagnostics (ID2) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen since 2021. Before that Liu was an Associate Professor and ARC Future Fellow at University of New South Wales (UNSW). After finishing her PhD degree in Chemistry in 2006 under the supervision of Prof Justin Gooding at UNSW, Liu conducted her postdoctoral research at CSIRO (2006-2008) and UNSW (2008-2010), respectively before she accepted a faculty position as Associate Professor at Central China Normal University (2009-2015). Liu worked as a Senior Research Fellow at ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhtotnics (CNBP), Macquarie University before she was awarded the prestigious ARC Future Fellowship in 2016.
Guozhen is recognised for her interdisciplinary and translational research with close end-user engagement in the area of biosensors, point-of-care diagnostics, stimuli-responsive nanoparticles, and medical devices. She worked in industry as R&D Manager for AgaMatrix Inc. (2010-2015), a US based company in China and continues her industry engagement through a strong record of partnering with biomedical firms such as AstraZeneca, BioLegend, AgaMatrix Inc, and Regeneus Ltd. Among her many prestigious awards, she received the Rising Star Award by Australian Association of Chinese Biomedical Scientists in 2018, the second prize of innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas High Level Talents 2018, China, Australia and South Africa, and the Georgina Sweet Award for Women in Biomedical Science 2020. (Georgina Sweet Award for Women in Quantitative Biomedical Science)。 Mat., Adv. Funct. Mat., Adv. Sci., Trends Biotech.、Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.、Biosens. Bioelectron.、ACS Sens.、 Anal. Chem. Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology杂志Biosensors and Biomolecular Electronics部的总编辑,Biosensors & Bioelectronics杂志特刊编辑。 |
